Sabrfy is built on work other people gave away. These are the terms we hold to.
The directory
Masjid and prayer-space data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). If a listing here is wrong, correcting it on OpenStreetMap corrects it everywhere, not just on Sabrfy.
Prayer times
Computed on your device with the adhan library (MIT), using the ISNA calculation method. Nothing about your location is sent to us.
Qur'ān text
When the reader ships, the Arabic will come from the Tanzil Project, reproduced verbatim and unmodified as their terms require. Translations will be listed here individually with their own licences — nothing appears in Sabrfy that cannot be attributed.
What we will never do
No machine-generated scripture or commentary. The Qur'ān is the Arabic; renderings into other languages are interpretations of meaning, made by people who answer for them. A model paraphrasing a theologically loaded phrase produces text that reads well and is wrong — and no one would know which verses. Every translation Sabrfy carries was written by a human being, and is named here.
